The most important factor in a young person's experience of school or a community setting is not the curriculum, the behaviour policy, or the provision on offer — it is the quality of the adults around them. Wethnk's CPD and training offer is built on that belief.
Wethnk delivers professional development training for school staff, youth workers, community practitioners, and voluntary sector teams. Sessions are reflective, case-study-based, and practically focused — grounded in Matthew's 15 years of experience of what actually works when engaging young people across schools, residential care, community sport, and the criminal justice system. Participants leave with strategies they can apply immediately, not a folder of theory that sits on the shelf.
Training is available as a standalone session, a series, or as part of a wider pastoral review process.

Who is this for?
Teaching staff, pastoral leads, heads of year, form tutors, teaching assistants, and support staff in schools across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Youth workers, community practitioners, and volunteers in VCS and community settings. Faith community leaders and volunteers working with young people. Senior leadership teams and MAT-level pastoral leads seeking trust-wide consistency.
Can be adapted for leadership teams, whole-staff INSET days, department-level sessions, or cross-organisation practitioner networks. Particularly effective when delivered alongside or following a Wethnk Pastoral Strategy Review.
Investment
Pricing is per participant, reflecting the tailored, practically focused nature of each session.
Half-day training (up to 3 hours): £80 per participant, minimum £600
Full training day (up to 6 hours): £80 per participant, minimum £1,400
Example: half-day with 12 participants — £960. Full day with 12 participants — £1,400 (minimum applies). Full day with 20 participants — £1,600.
MAT and multi-setting commissions: volume pricing available — contact us to discuss.
All sessions include pre-training consultation and are fully inclusive of travel within Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
For engagements outside Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin; travel and accommodation costs will be agreed in advance where necessary.
