Football Club Foundations

Direct delivery with young people. Capacity building with your team. Both

FOOTBALL REACHES THE YOUNG PEOPLE THAT OTHER SERVICES CANNOT.

The young person who won't engage in a classroom, won't walk into a youth club, and won't respond to a statutory referral will often show up on a pitch.

But showing up is just the start. The young people foundations work with — those facing exclusion, those with SEMH needs, those at risk — need more than coaching. They need skilled adults around them who know how to have the conversations that matter.

That is the Wethnk foundation offer.

Direct pastoral work with young people. Development of the practitioners around them. Both — at the same time.

Matthew Popo is a training partner at Birmingham City Football Club Foundation. Equipping the team with the relevant skills to support young people effectively and safely.

Two strands. One approach.

  • Direct work with young people

Structured mentoring, SEMH programmes, workshops, and keynotes delivered directly to young people in foundation and school settings.

  • Building your team's capacity

Developing the pastoral and mentoring skills of foundation school-based teams — so the support continues long after Wethnk's direct delivery ends.
