Dynamic debating workshop preparing young people for life in Modern Britain

An interactive workshop giving students the opportunity to explore and reflect on challenging, relevant topics — appropriate relationships, youth violence, misogyny, online safety, and other RSHE themes. Led by an experienced facilitator, students deconstruct views and beliefs in a vibrant, discussion-based environment, building critical thinking skills and learning to engage constructively with perspectives that differ from their own.

Aims

  1. Provide a safe, structured space to explore RSHE and wider curriculum themes.

  2. Encourage students to consider arguments and counter-arguments — building critical thinking.

  3. Prepare pupils for life in modern Britain by deepening their understanding of fundamental British values.

By the end, participants will:

  • Develop understanding of the topic through guided research and discussion.

  • Critique and formulate a balanced argument for or against a given stance.

  • Express views confidently and respectfully while actively listening to others.
