Youth Engagement Programmes

Wethnk designs and delivers bespoke youth engagement programmes built around commissioner specifications and the needs of the young people they are designed to serve. Every programme is grounded in the Wethnk Village Approach — acknowledging the full network of influences around a young person and bringing families, schools, and community together to create the consistent, connected support that actually makes a difference.

This is not off-the-shelf delivery. Every programme is designed from the ground up — shaped by the commissioner's outcome framework, the local context, and an honest assessment of what young people in that community actually need.

What this looks like in practice

• Co-designing the programme with the commissioner from the outset — ensuring delivery aligns with strategic priorities, existing provision, and the target cohort

• Structured, purposeful sessions with clear personal development goals for each young person

• Embedding the Village Approach — working with families, schools, and community partners alongside direct delivery to create consistent support around each young person

• A clear outcomes framework agreed with the commissioner before delivery begins — covering wellbeing, attendance, aspiration, engagement, and behaviour indicators

• Regular monitoring reports, attendance records, and outcome evidence submitted in the format and at the frequency required under the contract

• End of programme evaluation — including young person feedback, case studies, and outcome data — suitable for funder reporting and local authority contract monitoring

Aims

1. Deliver structured, evidence-based youth engagement in priority wards, alternative provision, or targeted community settings.

2. Align programme design with commissioner outcome frameworks — including the Telford & Wrekin Youth Strategy and National Lottery Community Fund requirements.

3. Demonstrate measurable impact across wellbeing, attendance, aspiration, and behaviour — providing commissioners with the evidence they need.

4. Complement and strengthen existing local provision rather than duplicate it.

By the end of the programme:

• Young people will have participated in structured, purposeful sessions with clear personal development goals and a written outcome summary.

• Commissioners will have received timely, accurate monitoring data and outcome evidence suitable for contract reporting and funder requirements.

• Families and community partners will have been engaged as active participants in supporting each young person — not passive bystanders.

• The programme will have contributed meaningfully to the commissioner's strategic outcomes — with evidence to demonstrate it.
